Global Youth Take Action

Step up. Innovate. Act.

As the world faces a global health emergency, the vital importance of integrated and sustainable water management is emphasized. All over the world, youth have stepped up and mobilized to lend a helping hand to those most in need by proposing inspiring, creative, and innovative ideas. More than ever, it is vital to support young people who are engaged and empowered for achieving water security and thus contributing to equitable and sustainable development.  

In this context, the International Water Secretariat has launched a global call for youth project proposals intitled “Global Youth Take Action”, using the Youth for Water and Climate platform. This call for projects aims to identify, encourage, and support youth engagement related to water management in the context of the global pandemic. More specifically, this call aims to support initiatives regarding water & health, water & agriculture, water-related risks, and water sharing.  

Special attention will be given to projects related to Covid-19. The current crisis reinforces the importance to work together as a global community to face this unprecedented challenge and maximize our impact upon the most vulnerable communities.  

The deadline to submit a project is June 7th, 2020.
