Young parliamentarians for water in action

The World Youth Parliament for Water continues to raise youth voices for further involvement of youth as key partners for SDG 6 achievement and peace.

That is what the network advocated for during the International High Level Conference on International decade for Action “Water for Sustainable development” 2018-2028 in Tajikistan last June. It was a great occasion to strengthen the network in Central Asia, to push for youth representation in decision-making processes and to promote #water as vector of #peace! Far from a large conference, youth from Central Asia will have a greater echo in Basin committees where their involvement is recognized in Kazakhstan and Kirgizstan.

At the High-Level Political Forum on Sustainable Development at United Nations in New York, besides many activities, WYPW co-organised together with UNESCO and the WaterYouthNetwork a side event entitled: “Ensuring Intergenerational Policy Dialogues for Achieving SDG 6” where Lindsey Aldaco-Manner, YWPW president, showed how youth, being active with concrete project, can be a bridge between local communities and global governance and therefore ensure a greater chance to achieve SDG6.
