Since Earth day the community of Wariperqa – in Peru – has drinking water!
The drinking water infrastructure component of the project was completed on April 22, 2018, with great satisfaction from the community and local authorities.
A crucial element: The drinking water system was built with the active participation of the men and women of the community. In addition, a drinking water management committee has been set up.
Now the community of Wariperqa has access to a sustainable drinking water system that includes capture, conduction and distribution subsystems, tanks, pressure relief chambers, air and control valves, faucets and family sinks.

100% of the dwellings are covered and each person now has access to 80 liters of water a day, all year round. The next step is to develop the sanitation system, which will lead to a new capacity building operation.
This was the second time the Governance and Sustainable Sanitation (GOSSA) approach, that we developed, was used by our partners and this was once again successful.
