Water ChangeMakers Awards

We are proud to support a new initiative of the Global Water Partnership, the Water ChangeMakers Awards, which aim to highlight those who have shaped water-related decisions that contribute to building water and climate resilience.

Launched on World Water Day, 22 March, the initiative brings together nearly 20 partner organizations – the youth network we run, the World Youth Parliament for Water, is co-owner of the initiative.

The international community is going through a difficult time with an unprecedented health crisis. On the contrary of inertia, it is in these moments that we must redouble our efforts to mobilize people and the advocacy work is done with governments to move the water agenda forward.

The purpose of these awards is therefore to highlight the individuals or organizations that are mobilizing, bringing about change and working tirelessly to develop new initiatives. Now more than ever, it is time to learn from our peers, collaborate with like-minded individuals and celebrate the work of the Change Makers.

This brand-new initiative seeks to build a community of Change Actors around water issues – the winners of this first edition will be part of the next cohort of the selection committee. They are therefore more than prizes, but a collective of individuals and organizations mobilized around the same goals.

Calls for submissions are now open until June 7! We invite you to submit your candidacy or that of a colleague who deserves this recognition and to share in your network of contacts!

Finalists will be invited to participate in an international climate conference, where the official awards ceremony will be held. This will also be an opportunity for finalists to expand their networks as they gain access to leaders in the climate community.
