Appointment of SARAH DOUSSE as Executive Director of the International Secretariat for Water – Solidarity Water Europe group

The ISW-SWE Executive Board, acting on behalf of the Board of Directors, is pleased to announce the appointment of Sarah Dousse as Executive Director of the International Secretariat for Water (Montréal) – Solidarity Water Europe (Strasbourg) group effective on May 1st, 2017.

Sarah Dousse holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Sociology and Political and Administrative Sciences from the University of Potsdam (Germany) and a Master’s Degree in Socio-Economics from the University of Geneva (Switzerland). After working with civil society organizations, particularly in India, she held the position of Program Manager at the Development and Cooperation Agency in the Global Programme Water Division of the Swiss Federal Department of Foreign Affairs.

Ms. Dousse joined ISW-SWE in February 2016 as a Development, Partnerships and Communications Advisor. In June 2016, Sarah Dousse was appointed as Director a. i. of the organization.

“It is a pleasure to continue my involvement in the water sector with an organization that has constantly innovated for the implementation of the right to water by creating zones of dialogue between all stakeholders. On the lookout of the needs of the sector, I will devote my energy to developing initiatives combining the ideas of the new generation, the possibilities offered by digital technologies, with the objective of access to water for all while preserving the resource for the good of society” she said.

Sarah Dousse has taken up her duties as Executive Director of the International Water Secretariat – Solidarity Water Europe since May 1st, 2017.
