SOLIDARITY WATER EUROPE CONSOLIDATES ITS COMMITMENT IN MOLDOVA AS THE COUNTRY FACES A TURNING POINT IN ITS HISTORY.

From December 12 to 18, 2022, the Solidarity Water Europe team went to Moldova for a monitoring mission of the reinforced governance projects in the Nirnova river basin.

Having obtained the status of candidate country to the European Union with Ukraine last June, Moldova is now facing unprecedented challenges for its future.

Major transformations are underway that should bring the country ever closer to the Union, including a profound reform of its territorial organization.

Solidarity Water Europe, which has been working tirelessly for several years with the Mayors of the Nirnova Basin on the ambition of strengthened governance at the local level, is delighted to see its project for integrated water resource management considered as a pilot initiative and its recommendations at the heart of the national debate.

The links developed throughout the week between the Moldovan and French local and national authorities on the occasion of the international conference organized in Chisinau under the aegis of the French Embassy are a source of great hope for the months and years to come.
