Club of Strasbourg – #WaterGeneration Meetup

From November 16 to 21, Solidarity Water Europe organizes, in partnership with the city of Strasbourg, a European Youth Meeting in the context of the Club of Strasbourg’s 16th Assembly.

Created in 2003, the Club is a network connecting 60 European cities of which Strasbourg plays the leading role. This network promotes active cooperation between its members and facilitates the implementation of public policies and citizen projects, responding to current major societal challenges.

In the run-up to the next European elections in May 2019, this 16th meeting will be held under the colors of Europe. Two themes will be highlighted and will provide a basis for reflection for young people:

  • Engagement and citizenship in Europe.
  • Europe facing the challenges of climate change.

Youth proposals in these areas will then be presented and discussed at the plenary session of the Club of Strasbourg, bringing together young people, elected representatives and representatives of partner cities. The conclusions of this dialogue will contribute to the drafting of a Manifesto, aimed at challenging European policy-makers on the expectations of cities and citizens: a great opportunity for Solidarity Water Europe to highlight issues such as water, peace and citizenship, which have so often marked its activities in recent years.
