What is the European Youth Event?
From May 29-30 2020, the European Parliament of Strasbourg will be hosting the 4th edition of the European Youth Event, bringing together more than 7’000 young people from all over the European Union and beyond to share and shape their ideas on the future of Europe. It is a unique opportunity for youth to meet and inspire each other and decision-makers right in the heart of European democracy.
On this occasion and since the EYE is only open to groups, we are gathering a team of young water leaders motivated to take part in the EYE and spread the vision of the European youth for water.
During the EYE, you will be able to choose among a large number of activities, ranging from artistic performances to high-level panels or interactive workshops. But also, you will be able to meet and connect with young participants and decision-makers coming from all over Europe.
The EYE is also a unique opportunity for young people to make their voices heard for the future of Europe. All the reflections resulting from the workshops will be transmitted to the services of the European Parliament and submitted to the Members of the European Parliament. In order to make the most of this opportunity, we will be requesting some preparatory work in order to identify in advance what messages you would like to convey during the EYE.
Finally, during the EYE, we will be organizing a workshop related to transboundary water resource management. You will be asked to contribute to the organisation of this workshop and to actively participate to this activity.
A provisional programme of the EYE is available here: http://www.epgencms.europarl.europa.eu/cmsdata/upload/42a7e356-75bd-40f1-ab88-24e0586e4650/2019_EYE_Programme_EN.pdf

We envision a world where everyone has access to a safe, sustainable source of water and sanitation.
Since its foundation over 25 years ago, our movement has strived to create a better planet, where people can live in dignity, free from the tyranny of thirst and unsanitary conditions.
In pursuit of this goal, we work from local to international levels, with a growing network of partners on all five continents. Whether we are building infrastructure, coordinating governance of inspiring young water leaders, we operate with flexibility, adaptability and creativity. We mobilize, connect and support stakeholders who may otherwise be excluded from decisions that affect them. We work to build an inclusive movement for better, more sustainable provision of water and sanitation. Access to water is a right, and for a right to have meaning, it must be defined, and it must above all defended. Our team’s actions in Strasbourg, Montreal and in the field are guided and motivated by this maxim.
