Blue Book Mali 2nd edition available in French and English

The Blue Book Mali is a joint initiative of a group of Malian water and sanitation actors, gathered in the National Committee of the Blue Book of Mali. At the international level, the initiative is carried out by the International Secretariat for Water and the partners gathered within the International Steering Committee. The first edition of the Blue Book Mali was published in 2005. The second edition is now available in English, download your copy now.

The Blue Book Mali 2017 was produced with the financial support of the Veolia Foundation. As in previous editions, it was developed in a participatory manner. A comprehensive review of the literature was conducted and consultations were held with representatives of all components of the sector. An electronic questionnaire was completed by some 60 actors. The interim report was shared and improved with the comments of the National Steering Committee and the final report was validated at a national workshop held in Bamako on 30 June 2016.

The Blue Books provide independent analysis of a country’s water management environment. They are especially focused on access to water and sanitation and the management of water resources. The Books take a critical look at sector strategy, policies, and stakeholder roles and capacities. The Books are drafted by committed citizens from government, the private sector and civil society who are water managers, planners and consumers. They seek stakeholder consensus to plan and initiate joint action, as well as multisector and multifactor synergies.

The International Secretariat for Water is deeply grateful for the involvement of the members of the Blue Book Mali National Committee.
